Mental Health Training

We offer training and support for churches on mental health awareness . We want to equip the church to understand mental health disorders and addictions, supportive recovery and the role of the church. We work in partnership with Interact Chelmsford who run an internationally recognised training course called Mental Health First Aid.

Testimonies

I found the course useful and the training was very well presented and easily understood. I have referred to the comprehensive course handbooks given out to help me understand a client I am befriending who has mental health issues.

Mrs W. Maldon

I attended the Mental Health First Aid Training last year and found it very informative. The trainer was very professional in her approach and did not mind how many questions we raised. We had plenty of opportunities to share our own personal ideas on the various topics and always felt listened too which is very important. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in mental health.

Mrs P. Southminster

The course has helped reduce my fear and increase my confidence to approach and help someone who is emotionally and/or mentally distressed. The course also explained how we can keep mentally and emotionally well ourselves and how we can  protect ourselves from burn out. I found it to be a very comprehensive but easy to understand practical  course with an excellent take home manual.

I am so glad of the mental health first aid course. So many people I meet are experiencing mental ill health and I didn’t know what to do with them!! Now I have been given information and help to be able to assist and also sign post them to other organisations that can help. I feel more confident in helping others and recommend the course to anyone.

This course is a must for churches!!
It helps network in with the mental health services to enable churches to signpost when people are in crisis. I would recommend the course to all church leaders and those involved in pastoral care.
